NOTE ON THE NEWS - DYNASTY ENDS AT FALMOUTH ROAD RACE

The Cape Cod Times reported yesterday that a management shake-up had occurred at the New Balance Falmouth Road Race, one of America's top summer road races.  The four people who directed the race since its inception in 1973 --Rich and Kathy Sherman and John and Lucia Carroll-- will be leaving their posts.  The Shermans resigned and the Carrolls retired, according to the Times. 

The Sherman and Carroll team grew the Massachusetts race from fewer than 100 runners to nearly 10,000 finishers last year.  They directed the event for 38 years.
